Dooms Day is Nearing!

As of 11pm, 31st of January 2009, the #1 search engine Google had gone crazy! Whatever you search, the output would be suggested links coupled with a statement saying that "This site may be harmful to your computer". Usually when this phrase is displayed with a link, it means that the site (most probably pornography sites or APIIT's webspace...yes, I dont like APIIT's site) is not safe and may contain viruses/trojans/worms that may affect your computer.

With that said, and with that phrase displayed with every link...it could possibly mean google was hacked or dooms day is coming soon! Maybe 1st Feb 2009?! Who knows? Maybe a major worldly organization is planning on disguising its activities on a public holiday in KL (coincidence?). Be prepared for anything and everything as they may be watching you from the shadows, or from the sky, or from under your bed...

If you don't believe it, check this $#!t out.

P.S. Imagine what would the world be like without Uncle Google. Scary...I bet some of you nutshells dont even know what "Yahoo" is...wahahha (no, seriously...)!

APIIT Admin Is Good at Diverting Information

**Scenario**

Date: 14th Jan 2009
Time: 1:15pm

************

I begin my journey to APIIT at 1:15pm. Based on the appointment with my supervisor, the agreed/scheduled time to meet was at 2pm. As usual, I would need at least 40 minutes to reach APIIT by car and and I received a phone call at about 1.35pm. As I was driving, I could not answer the phone call therefore I have sent a busy ringtone to the caller. The caller rang up as soon as I sent the busy tone and I resent the busy tone. No more calls came in after that as I drove in peace.

I reached APIIT at around 1.50pm. I went straight to the designated classroom only to find out that the supervisor was on MC. I asked another student under her supervision about her absence and he said he got a call from Admin at around 1.32pm saying that she would be absent. He said he was there at that time because he was having a class and wanted to wait for his friend to go home.

After knowing that, I headed straight for the Admin to address this issue of them not informing in advance. This issue has been addressed before by yours truly 3 - 4 weeks ago when the Admin did not inform the students of the absence of another lecturer responsible for the Final Year Project (FYP) briefing. I had actually gave them my contact number before and asked them to update my email address. I do not see why this is yet another case I should address again.

The Admin apologized for the inconvenience and asked me if I would like to see the Upper Management. I reluctantly agreed to see the Manager. The conversation below took place in the Manager's room.

(AUDIO ONLY)

As you have heard, the Manager was trying to divert the conversation. He keeps on interfering with my speech. What the hell does the APIIT email got to do with the Admin not informing me in advance?! What has email got to do with this?! Even if its the email, do you think the email is a practical and efficient way of telling students of urgent changes?! Even when I told him that I have heard the same story before during his briefing that I attended, he continued telling me the same thing, what for?!

Now that everything is settled, I decided to walk away without hurting anyone's feelings unlike those people who are dissatisfied with service. I hung out with some of my friends who came that day just to see what the supervisor meeting is like.

The next scenario is when I was heading towards the carpark to go home. I got a call from the Admin.

Admin: Hello? Is this Eric Wong?

Eric: Yes, who is this speaking?

Admin: This is APIIT's admin. Why didn't you pick up my call just now? How can you say we did not inform you?

Eric: *pauses* I'm sorry, but I was driving when you called me.

Admin: You should have picked up the call instead of saying we did not call you.

Eric: I was driving, how do you expect me to answer your call?! And I was driving on my way to APIIT. *frustration builds* Don't you think it's a little too late to call me for that?

Admin: We did try to inform you but you didn't answer the call.

Eric: Hello! Who is this?! MAY I KNOW WHO IS THIS SPEAKING?!

Admin:  *inserts hold-on tone and cuts off the line*

Eric: WTF?!

Tomorrow I will be filing another complaint. To be continued...

****************UPDATE********************

I have met with the Manager again today (15th Jan) and told him of the conversation that took place on the phone with the Admin. Below is the conversation between me and the Manager.

(AUDIO ONLY)

Soon after that, I arranged a meeting with my supervisor at 10:30am. She asked me if the Admin had informed me yesterday that she will be absent. She also said that she informed the Admin of her MC at 8am. I told her the details and obviously she was disappointed with the Admin. She then wanted me (and her other supervisees) to send her an email regarding this issue so that she could then lodge a complaint. I felt so sorry for the Admin, muahahaha!!!

Just now (7.05pm), the Admin called me again to inform me of my Supervisor meeting (again?!) which will take place at 10am (16th Jan). I told the Admin that I had already spoken to my supervisor and would like her to double check that. Yup, pretty much confirmed that my Supervisor is forgetful but I can't blame her.

One thing that stood out is that the Admin was VERY F-ING POLITE, and she actually took the time to call me 1 day in advance! Wow...such tremendous effort in improving the service. It's almost unbelievable...But she was not the same woman I spoke to before. Maybe she got fired? Muahahahha!!!
